Niger’s Republic President Meets German Foreign Minister Baerbock (News Central TV)

Niger President Mohamed Bazoum has welcomed Germany’s foreign minister Annalena Baerbock, who is touring west Africa. According to Bazoum, their meeting focused on “decades of crucial cooperation between Niger and Germany.”

During the hearing, Baerbock noted that the security situation, particularly terrorism, the consequences of the climate issue, the food situation, and education, particularly the education of young people in Niger, were also discussed.

The German Foreign Minister expressed her delight at being in Niger, stating that security, in addition to climate protection, is one of Germany’s top objectives, and that the country wishes to “continue to cooperate with Niger in this field.”

“I have seen and I have seen how education is a priority for President Mohamed Bazoum and we share the same opinion in Germany, it is really very important,” she said.

Niger is a landlocked country in West Africa named after the Niger River. Niger is a unitary state bordered by Libya to the northeast, Chad to the east, Nigeria to the south, Benin Republic and Burkina Faso to the southwest, Mali to the west, and Algeria to the northwest.
