The Nigerian Government’s September 14 deadline for the linking of the National Identification Number (NIN) with Subscribers Identity Modules (SIM) is still in effect, according to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
NIMC assured that its equipment and staff in the 10,000+ registration outlets in Nigeria and abroad are functioning smoothly for enrollment, verification, authentication, and data modification.
According to Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the Head of Corporate Communications, NIMC, “All of our 10,000+ NIN enrollment centers nationwide and overseas are open for NIN enrollment as the September 14, 2024, deadline for the NIN-SIM linkage approaches.”
In light of the impending deadline, it was noted that NIN holders and applicants can use the NIMC self-service portal for data modification and make inquiries through specified channels.
NIMC emphasised its commitment to preventing extortion and unethical practices during the NIN enrollment process, and reiterated that NIN enrollment is free of charge. Any issues related to exploitation or unethical practices can be reported through specified contact details.
