A nine-year-old boy, identified simply as David, was among the survivors of the train crash that occurred at about 7:30 am, Thursday at the PWD area of Lagos State.
David was sighted with a bruise on his face while lying in one of the beds placed under the tents provided for the victims on the premises of the surgical emergency at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

According to an anonymous victim who suffered minor injuries, David, a primary school pupil, was seated next to his mother in the bus when the accident occurred.
Unfortunately, David’s mother sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving critical care in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
The crash involved a passenger train that collided with a Lagos State Government staff bus on its way from Ikotun en route Alausa, the state secretariat, in the PWD area of the state.
The accident claimed the lives of eight people, and an unspecified number of individuals were injured.
