NIPOST Aims for N10 Billion Revenue Growth Through Strategic Expansion

The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has set a target to achieve a N10 billion revenue increase through strategic expansion and innovation. This announcement was made by the Postmaster General and CEO of NIPOST, Mrs. Tola Odeyemi, during the opening of a three-day Strategic Management Retreat in Abuja. The retreat was attended by NIPOST management, directors, and postal managers from across Nigeria.

Mrs. Odeyemi emphasised that the current leadership is committed to transforming the postal service into an agency that adds value to government operations and positively impacts ordinary Nigerians. One key initiative includes a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN). This partnership aims to reduce the cost of transporting goods for the 22 million businesses registered with SMEDAN by 15%.

Mrs. Odeyemi also highlighted NIPOST’s efforts to diversify the economy by facilitating affordable logistics solutions for businesses across Nigeria. The agency plans to upgrade its technology infrastructure to enhance mail delivery and address issues related to missing mail.

Additionally, NIPOST is working to relaunch its e-commerce, financial services, and NIN enrollment initiatives, leveraging its widespread presence in all 774 local government areas.

The retreat, themed “Empower, Innovate, Shape: Nigerian Post, Optimised for Excellence,” focused on aligning NIPOST’s operations with its vision for growth and efficiency. Mrs. Odeyemi assured that NIPOST would continue to explore opportunities to boost the economy and improve productivity nationwide.
