NITDA, De Lorenzo Forge Strategic Partnership to Elevate Africa's Digital Economy

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) of Nigeria and the renowned Italian technology company, De Lorenzo, have formalised a strategic collaboration to narrow the digital gap between Europe and Africa. The partnership seeks to elevate the digital economy across the continent.

The announcement came as Kashifu Inuwa, the Director General of NITDA, hosted Matteo Prosperi, CEO of De Lorenzo Global, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. The meeting centered on fortifying bilateral relations to empower youth in Learning Centers, Hubs, and Tech Zones, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda. The overarching goal is to stimulate job creation and establish a resilient Digital Economy.

De Lorenzo Global, a leading manufacturer and supplier of purposefully made didactic technology equipment, specialises in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Machine Automation, Process Control, and Factory Automation.

The collaborative effort aims to create an enriched environment for startups and entrepreneurs on the continent, offering comprehensive support through tailored training, mentorship programmes, and accessible funding opportunities.

One of the primary goals is to address key challenges facing Africa’s digital economy, including cybersecurity threats, the digital skills gap, and limited access to finance. By combining De Lorenzo’s technological expertise with NITDA’s regulatory framework, the partnership aims to develop innovative solutions to overcome these obstacles.

The collaboration is poised to build a robust and vibrant tech ecosystem in Africa, with a particular focus on Nigeria. Luciano Prosperi, President of De Lorenzo Global, generously donated 1000 e-learning solutions across various fields within their product portfolio, enhancing resources for Nigeria’s educational institutions.
