Ace Nigerian filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan has announced his upcoming psycho-thriller film ‘House of secrets’. The Nollywood director released first-look images of the new project yesterday tagging a few of the a-list actors on the film.
Judging by the images being mostly in black and white, the anticipated film is reportedly a dreamy romance drama and film noir, a cinematic term used for movies that are mostly shot without colour.
The plot details are top secret at the moment, but Akinmolayan and Dolapo Adigun are reportedly credited as writers, Victoria Akunjobi is attached as producer while Barny Emordi is the director of photography. Cast would include Kate Henshaw, Efe Irele, Onajite Dede, Anee Icha, Funlola Aofiyebi amongst others.
Filming has reportedly kicked off in Lagos, Nigeria as part of the partnership between Akinmolayan’s Anthill Studios and Prime videos. Nollywood hit films like ‘Prophetess‘, ‘Day of Destiny’ and ‘Elevator Baby’ have previously enjoyed this exclusive licensing agreement.
Speaking in the partnership, Prime video’s Director of Content Acquisition and Head of Worldwide Major Studio Licensing Strategy, Ayanna Lonian said “We are very excited to bring Anthill’s upcoming slates of popular Nollywood movies to Prime Video customers around the world. We want to showcase the very best of Nollywood and authentic African stories to our customers and this groundbreaking deal helps us to achieve that goal.”
