A total of 45,689 applicants participated in a Computer-Based Aptitude Test as part of the recruitment process for employment at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Saturday.
The test was conducted at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society Centenary Resource Centre in Maitama, Abuja, and numerous other centres nationwide. This marks the second stage of the competitive recruitment process, which commenced earlier this year.
On July 25, 2024, the company had announced openings for new roles within its organisation.
NNPC’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, stated in an earlier announcement that the recruitment drive spans various departments and urged interested candidates to apply through the official NNPC careers page.
In a recent update shared via its official Facebook page on Saturday, the national oil company reaffirmed its commitment to selecting only the most qualified candidates from the pool of applicants.
The post read: “As the Computer-Based Aptitude Test for NNPC Ltd.’s recruitment begins today at various centres across the country, 45,689 applicants compete in a transparent and inclusive recruitment process.”
Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, visited one of the testing centres and assured the public of a smooth, fair, and credible recruitment process.
“As an equal opportunity employer, NNPC Ltd. has implemented special measures to ensure applicants with disabilities can participate in the test without any barriers,” the statement said.
Kyari further emphasised that only the most outstanding candidates among the 45,689 applicants would be considered for employment.
