Adina Thembi Ndamse better known by her stage name Adina has openly said that she wouldn’t join the current wave of celebs hurriedly endorsing political parties, especially the two strong parties in the country- National Democratic Congress (NDC) or New Patriotic New Party (NPP).
This was made known during a recent interview with Kastle FM. ‘No amount of money will be enough to convince me to endorse a political party. I don’t detest politics but I like to keep my political life very private,’ Adina told the host Amansan Krakye.
Taking her career into consideration, the ‘Why’ singer said it is imperative for her to keep her political affiliation private. ‘’As an artiste, I do music for everybody irrespective of your political affiliation. So I don’t think it would be the best to go on that level of openly endorsing a political party now or in the future.’’ She emphasised.
Her statement comes after some musicians and public figures in Ghana endorsed and publicly disclosed their political affiliations before the 2020 general elections..
Adina is a Ghanaian-South African singer, songwriter, actress and sometimes a model. She was the winner of music reality show Stars of the Future in 2008. Her eighth music single titled “Too Late” won her two awards – Record of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in Ghana.
