No More Fake Delays: NCAA Threatens Airlines With Sanctions

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has warned airlines, urging them to refrain from deceptive scheduling of departure times or risk being sanctioned.

The agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Michael Achimugu, said the NCAA now has zero tolerance for regulatory violations and warned airlines to cease advertising deceitful departure times.

“It has come to our notice that some airlines are being reported for advertising deceitful departure times. The regulation says no airline shall display deceitful passenger departure time at its counter, advert material, or on its website”. He stressed.

He added that if the NCAA makes doing business easier for operators, the operators must also satisfy the passengers with excellent services.

He mentioned that although the regulator wants airlines to be profitable due to their crucial contribution to the economy, it’s essential for passengers to receive fair treatment.
