Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has revealed that she and her husband, Oluwaseyi Akinrinde, have gone their separate ways.

In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Tuesday—which also happened to be his birthday—Biola Bayo opened up about the breakup, stating that they’ve actually been separated for over a year.

She confirmed that their marriage, which began on April 7, 2021, came to an end in April 2024. Despite the split, she said they remain committed to raising their son “maturely and peacefully” together.

The couple had welcomed their child via surrogacy in 2023.

Acknowledging the public’s possible disappointment, Biola offered an apology, saying, “I wish it worked, but it’s better to stay alive.”

Beyond her personal life, Biola is also known as the host of the Talk To B podcast—a platform where she advocates for struggling Nollywood actors and actresses. Yet, in a deeply emotional confession, she admitted that even while helping others smile, she has spent the last 14 months crying herself to sleep.

She wrote, “Happy birthday to my ex-husband and my baby daddy.

“I pray that grace will abound unto you, I pray you find peace in all your ways, may God continue to light your path and bless you beyond your expectations in Jesus’ name,

“Yes, you heard me right! My husband and I have been separated since April last year, but we have decided to maturely and peacefully co-parent our dear son, who means everything to us.
