Nigeria’s Ruling APC Sets N20million for Chairmanship Nomination

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed the nomination fee for the party’s national chairmanship position at N20 million ahead of the convention on March 26.

According to a statement issued Tuesday by Prof. Al-Mustapha Medaner, the sale of nomination forms is supposed to begin on Monday, March 14, but will end on Friday, March 18.

The party said, “The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) at its 25th regular meeting of 14th March 2022 reviewed and hereby adopts the following timetable/schedule of activities for the national convention.”

Aspirants seeking the position of deputy national chairmanship would pay N10 million for nomination forms; other positions in the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party would be sold for N5 million each.

Women and physically challenged candidates are required to pay 50 per cent of the prescribed fees for positions.

The sale of forms for the various party positions had not yet begun as of Tuesday.
