Notorious Boko Haram Preacher Ari-Difinoma Surrenders to Nigerian Army (News Central TV)

 A notorious preacher and leader of Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād (JAS), Boko Haram terrorists’ group, Alhaji Ari-Difinoma, has surrendered to the Nigerian Army.

News Central gathered that Ari-Difinoma surrendered to the troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama, Operation Hadin Kai, on May 16, 2022.

Intelligence gathered by News Central indicate that Ari-Difinoma, was forced out of his hideout following sustained bombardment by troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

The heightened clash between Boko Haram and its rival organization, the Islamic State of the West African Province, were also factors in his capitulation (ISWAP).

Recall, two weeks ago, News Central reported that Boko Haram and ISWAP Fighters clashed at Gargaj Village in Bama LGA, Borno State, NorthEast Nigeria, resulting in the death of a notorious Boko Haram commander Elhaj Ousman.

ISWAP staged a surprise attack on Boko Haram in Ukuba, a camp that had been repeatedly destroyed by Nigerian military but had been reoccupied by the terrorists, forcing the insurgents to flee.

It was learnt that Ari-Difinoma and others ran to hide in a small village located in Mantari, within the axis of Bama local government but were forced out of their hideout by hunger and unending artillery bombardments by the Nigerian troops.

In the last ten years, Alhaji Ari-Difinoma, a Monguno native who led one of the radicalisation schools in Ukuba Camp in Sambisa Forest under the Darul-Qur’an, has recruited a large number of children and youths through the teaching of extremist ideologues.

Over 52,000 Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents, including conscripted soldiers and their families, have surrendered to the troops thus far.
