The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has uncovered an illegal crude oil refining site in Abia State.
This operation was carried out by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad, leading to the arrest of five suspects. The officers also dismantled metallic structures used for illegal refining on a large expanse of land.
Crude oil theft has long deprived Nigeria of significant revenue, contributing to reduced crude oil production in oil-rich areas, particularly in the Niger Delta region.
