The Director-General of Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, has underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration between the NYSC and the Department of State Services (DSS).
This call for enhanced synergy was made during a congratulatory visit to the newly appointed DSS Director-General, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
General Ahmed commended Ajayi for his exceptional work ethic, dedication, and passion for his new role, expressing confidence that his leadership would further advance the security framework in Nigeria.
He noted that the longstanding partnership between the NYSC and the DSS has significantly contributed to the achievements of the NYSC, particularly in promoting national unity, integration, and the overall development of the country.
In response, Director-General Ajayi acknowledged the NYSC’s numerous accomplishments, particularly in human capital and community development over the past fifty-one years. He praised General Ahmed’s leadership and recalled instances where he collaborated with security agencies to ensure the safety of Corps members, highlighting the NYSC’s commitment to their welfare.
Reflecting on his own youth service experience, Ajayi reaffirmed his dedication to reinforcing the existing cooperation between the DSS and the NYSC, aiming to enhance the safety and well-being of all Corps members.
