The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushua Ahmed, has confirmed that the payment of the new N77,000 monthly allowance for corps members will begin soon.
General Ahmed made this announcement in Abuja during the commissioning of a 32-seater bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company. He explained that the bus would help address transportation challenges faced by both corps members and some NYSC staff in the capital.
The Director General highlighted his administration’s focus on corps welfare and stated that arrangements for the new allowance had been finalized. He also expressed gratitude to the Management of Capital Express Insurance for their continued support.
In response, the CEO of Capital Express Insurance Company, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, noted that the donation was part of the longstanding partnership between the company and NYSC. He also pledged to explore additional support for the scheme in 2025.
