Odinga Rejects Results, Vows to Take Legal Action (News Central TV)

Tuesday saw Kenyan presidential candidate Raila Odinga reject the results of last week’s election, which went in favour of his opponent, Deputy President William Ruto.

Odinga on Tuesday vowed to pursue “all constitutional and legal options” after rejecting the outcome of the polls.

“What we saw yesterday (Monday) was a travesty and a blatant disregard of the constitution of Kenya,” the Azimio La Umoja Coalition presidential candidate said at the press conference.

Following Odinga’s public rejection of the presidential result, it is expected that a petition would be filed at Kenya’s Supreme Court.

They have until Monday, seven days after the election to do so. Odinga left the press conference in Nairobi having strongly criticised the electoral commission chairman, accusing him of handling the polls like a dictator and a bully.
