Odion Ighalo was recognised by his previous team, Granada, during their pre-season match against Saudi team, Al-Wehda.
The match concluded with a 1-1 draw in regular time, with Granada emerging victorious in a penalty shootout with a score of 5-4.
Ighalo, who is currently affiliated with Al-Wehda, had a loan spell at Granada from Serie A club, Udinese, during the 2009/10 season.
The striker made a comeback for another stint in 2011, spending three seasons with the Nazaries.
Across the two periods, the 35-year-old netted 32 goals in 121 appearances for the club.
Ighalo also expressed his delight on social media about revisiting the club.
“Today is one of the happiest days of my life. 10 years later I return to my house, the one that gave me everything. I am very happy to be here! Thank you for supporting this club in all situations. And I hope one day my Granada can belong to the Granadans!! A big hug to all my fans! Without a doubt the best in the world,” he wrote on X.
