Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo scored four goals as Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal defeated Qatar’s Al-Duhail 7-0 on Sunday to advance to the AFC Champions League final. The former Manchester United striker scored his first goal in Doha’s Al-Thumama Stadium in less than 90 seconds.

Al-Hilal will play Urawa Red Diamonds in the first leg of the final on April 29 in Riyadh, with the return game on May 6 in Saitama, Japan. The Asian club competition is the most prestigious football event in Asia.

“For people watching the score must have been a surprise,” ex-Manchester United forward Odion Ighalo said.

The 33-year-old, who also played for Watford in the Premier League, left Old Trafford in 2021 after just one season with the Red Devils. He joined Al Hilal in January after a year with Al Shabab, another Saudi Arabian club.

Al Hilal, who are vying for a fifth consecutive championship, are also on course to become the first team to do so since Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad in 2005.
