The Ogun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps issued a traffic alert following the total blockage of the Ota-Idiroko Road in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
The statement from the Ogun FRSC by Spokesperson Florence Okpe, confirmed that the blockage was caused by multiple road crashes on the Iju River Bridge, which involved a truck, two tricycles, and a Camry.
The Camry, according to Okpe, plummeted right into the river in the process of the crash.
“Crash had occurred at Iju Bridge along Otta /Idiroko Road. It involves a truck, two tricycles, and a Camry car.
“Otta-Idiroko Road is blocked while the small car is plunged into the river.
“A crane is already mobilised to the scene while effort is also on to remove the car from the river.
“Otta – Idiroko route is completely blocked, operatives are on the ground managing the situation,” the statement said.
Reports confirmed that the FRSC and other security operatives were active at the scene of the incident, trying to salvage the situation.
