The Executive Council of the International Energy Foundation (IEF) has approved Libya joining to become the 72nd member state of the organisation, which includes more than 90% of the countries and organisations working in the production, consumption and marketing of oil and gas in the world.

The Ministry of Oil and Gas confirmed in a statement that Libya’s accession to the IEF came based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the approval of the Government of National Unity under Resolution No. 976 of 2022 AD, to join the IEF.

The Ministry also indicated that Libya, which joined the organisation as of December 2022, will work actively in the organisation as it worked in other energy organisations that it joined after its establishment and was a founding member in many of these organizations.
