The Super Falcons of Nigeria are on ground at the city of Doula in Cameroon to face the Indomitable Lionesses for the Olympic Games qualifier match on Friday.
A total of nineteen players arrived Cameroon for the clash including Sevilla star, Toni Payne, to begin training at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala.
The match, which is set to begin at 6 p.m. Nigerian time, will have the return leg played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, in Abuja next week Monday.
Last year, the Nigerian Super Falcons lost a place in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup by losing to England in a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw.
Despite an exceptional performance from the Super Falcons, the Lionesses managed to overcome the odds via a penalty shootout.
The match progressed into extra time, where tensions ran high, and in a dramatic shootout, Chloe Kelly’s successful shot propelled her team to a forthcoming clash against either Colombia or Jamaica.
