Omah Lay, Tems Back In Nigeria After Uganda Ordeal

Stanley Omah Didia (Omah Lay), Temilade Openiyi (Tems) and her manager, Muyiwa Ayoniyi have all returned to Nigeria from Uganda after a bitter experience with the East African nation’s Police.

Omah Lay, Tems and her manager were arrested in Uganda for violating COVID-19 protocols after performing in a show and were arraigned before a court on Monday.

Both artistes, massively followed in Nigeria and Uganda disclosed their experience and questioned the motive of the Ugandan government for the arrest.

Tems refused to eat until she was released alongside her manager while #FreeOmahLay trended on the social media.

On Thursday, the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) posted the arrival of both artistes at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

Nigerians had decried the extended detention of both artistes while the Nigerian Mission in Uganda called to mediate in the issue.

Both musicians were freed on Tuesday and they met the Nigerian High Commissioner on Wednesday before flying back home on Thursday. They arrived in Nigeria at exactly 12:35 p.m on Thursday.
