A man died after two passenger trains collided in the village of Llanbrynmair in central Wales on Monday. The accident left 15 people injured, transport police said Tuesday.
“We can sadly confirm a man has died following this evening’s incident,” said British Transport Police Superintendent Andrew Morgan.
The injured persons, who suffered minor injuries, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Morgan said transport police were working “to understand the circumstances leading up to this collision.”
A helicopter from St Athan, along with other helicopter agencies and emergency services, responded to the train crash in Llanbrynmair.
