Members of Operation Dudula, a South African anti-foreigner, anti-illegal immigration group, on Monday demonstrated outside the Pretoria High Court, opposing the Zimbabwe exemption permit (ZEP) extension.
The demonstration resulted in the closure of a section of Madiba Street. Operation Dudula’s national deputy chairperson, Dan Radebe, expressed their dissatisfaction with the ZEP extension, stating that it perpetuates poverty for South Africans while allowing foreigners to take their jobs.
The group is seeking to join the Helen Suzman Foundation (HSF) in their legal challenge of SA Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi’s decision to terminate the ZEP.
The HSF is seeking a declaration from the Pretoria High Court that Motsoaledi’s decision is unlawful, unconstitutional, and invalid. Motsoaledi is opposing the challenge.
