Orange launches Orange Digital Centre in Botswana (News Central TV)

The highest political and administrative officials from Botswana, as well as members of Orange Botswana’s board of directors and those from Orange Middle East and Africa, will attend the official opening of Orange’s Orange Digital Centre in Botswana on Friday.

This centre is a one-stop shop entirely dedicated to the development of digital skills and innovation.

This 12th Orange Digital Centre is opened in Botswana, following the examples of Tunisia, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mali, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, Madagascar, Morocco, and Liberia.

Over 390 square metres, it houses four Orange Group strategic programs: a coding school, a solidarity FabLab, one of the Orange Foundation’s digital manufacturing workshops, and an Orange Fab start-up accelerator. These programs are supported by Orange Ventures Middle East and Africa, the Orange Group’s investment fund.

Every session is offered without charge and is accessible to everyone. They include start-up acceleration, counseling for project holders, 90% practical digital training for young people, and investment in these.

The Orange Digital Centres, which function as a network, enable knowledge and experience to be exchanged between nations and provide a straightforward and inclusive strategy to increase young people’s employability, foster innovative 

The Orange Digital Center in Botswana is now officially open and ready to host a variety of digital training sessions and events.

In addition, Orange Botswana will offer free training to students and launch Orange Digital Centre Clubs, which are extensions of the Orange Digital Center within some local universities. Giving as many people access to new technologies as feasible and assisting them in making the most of these technologies would thereby complement the educational system.

Orange is dedicated to realising its mission, which is to support sustainable growth and the national strategy for digital transformation while fostering young employment. The program is designed to promote women’s and girls’ access to ICT occupations as well as gender equality and inclusion.
