Senator representing Edo North, Senator Adams Oshiomhole has called on Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Oshiomhole, who made the call during an interview on Channels Television, said some of Tinubu’s policy initiatives will require more than a year to materialise.
“You have to agree that some of the policy initiatives will require more than a year to materialise.
“What would the president gain by resorting to policy choices that are unlikely to deliver comfort in the long run?”
“So, I think for me, it is about having faith that in the long run, these things will work out,” he said.
Oshimhole’s statement comes after a report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) indicated that Nigeria’s inflation soared to 34.19% in June 2024.
The devaluation of the naira and the removal of fuel subsidies led to an increased cost of living. Despite the current state of Nigeria’s economy, which has taken a downturn, Senator Oshiomhole remains optimistic that President Tinubu’s policies will produce positive results in the future.
