Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has officially completed his move to Galatasaray to end a contentious transfer saga regarding the player after the speculation surrounding his proposed move to Al-Ahli and Chelsea fell through.

The agreement, which was finalised on Wednesday, sees Osimhen joining the Turkish club on a loan deal from Napoli without any buying option.

The 25-year-old striker will don the number 45 jersey for Galatasaray and is poised to feature in the Turkish Süper Lig until June 2025. As part of the loan deal, the Turkish club has agreed to cover his annual salary of €11 million.

This move sees Osimhen reuniting with his former Napoli teammate, Dries Mertens, who helped facilitate the transfer.

Following his arrival in Istanbul, the striker received a warm welcome from Galatasaray fans. He expressed his enthusiasm about joining the club and his readiness to contribute to the team’s success on the field.
