Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his dedication to good governance and sustainable development, emphasising that these would remain the focal points of his administration.
Speaking in Osogbo, the state’s capital, on Thursday after receiving the Governor of the Year Award from The Leadership Newspaper Group in recognition of his performance, Adeleke shared that his motivation for transforming key sectors such as education, health, agriculture, mining, and the digital economy stemmed from his commitment to addressing the needs of the people.
Adeleke expressed pride in the accolades his administration had garnered over the past year, including awards from both federal agencies and non-governmental bodies.
He acknowledged that these recognitions were a testament to his government’s dedication to good governance.
“In all these positive ratings, my response has always been to task my team to double their efforts. In the face of overwhelming positive reviews and high approval ratings, I am compelled to drive my team harder. When recently some opposition figures confessed to our positive ratings, I still believe we have a lot of grounds to cover,” Adeleke remarked, emphasising that they would fuel even greater efforts toward inclusive service delivery.
Addressing the challenges faced by the state, particularly the infrastructural deficit, Adeleke vowed to continue working tirelessly to fulfil his campaign promises.
He noted that the recent recognition had only motivated him to push harder for the people of Osun State.
Despite the positive reviews and high approval ratings, Adeleke said he and his team remained focused on addressing critical areas like workers’ welfare, infrastructure, educational expansion, healthcare access, solid mineral reforms, digital economy initiatives, and agricultural mechanisation.
The governor assured residents, particularly those in rural areas, that more developmental projects were on the horizon. His administration is focused on ensuring the development of the state’s rural communities, youth, women, and the digitally driven urban population.
