Jennifer Kamau, the owner of the six-storey building that collapsed in Ruaka claiming the lives of two people is set to face murder charges.
Jennifer will “respond to the offences of Criminal negligence and murder contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code,” according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
On Tuesday, four Kiambu County government officials will also be charged and are anticipated to do so before the same Kiambu Law courts. In the meantime, the owner of the Ruiru building that collapsed on Monday will also be charged in court.
On Tuesday, Stephen Ngaruiya will appear in court in Ruiru for the offense of construction without the necessary permits.
The building collapsed Monday morning, hours after Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi led an evacuation exercise on Sunday afternoon.
