The Government of Oyo State is seeking the approval of the state House of Assembly for a loan of 150 billion from Afrexim and Access financial institutions.
According to Governor Seyi Makinde, the loan was intended to hasten the completion of the ongoing Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road and to improve critical infrastructure that would reduce traffic gridlock within Ibadan metropolis.
Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin made this known while reading out a message from the governor on Tuesday, January 16 during the plenary session following their resumption from the Christmas and New Year recess.
Also, the governor sought the consent of the state assembly for the confirmation of Abdul-Raheem Abdul Rahman as Chairman, Oyo State Education Trust Fund (OETF) and Nureni Adeniran as Chairmen, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board.
In his remarks, the speaker noted that the house needed to be furnished with details of loan repayment plan and other necessary information that would aid legislative considerations of the Governor’s request.
