‘Peru’ by Nigerian singer, Fireboy has achieved a diamond certification in France.
The remix of ‘Peru’ featuring Ed Sheeran achieved remarkable international success, charting in over 20 countries. It reached No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaked at No. 2 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and reached No. 2 in France.
The song has garnered over 450 million streams on Spotify, earned a gold plaque in Denmark and achieved 2x platinum status in the UK. It has also been awarded an RIAA platinum plaque in recognition of its impact in the Afrobeats genre.
“Peru” contributed to Fireboy’s international recognition, leading to a BET nomination and a performance at the 2022 edition. The song’s diamond certification in France places it alongside other Nigerian hits like Oxlade’s “Kulosa,” Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” Burna Boy’s “On The Low,” and Rema’s “Calm Down.”
