Philippe Diallo has been reelected as president of the French Football Federation (FFF), securing over 55% of the vote on Saturday to defeat former ally of his predecessor, Pierre Samsonoff.
Diallo, 61, initially stepped into the role in January 2023 following the resignation of long-time FFF chief Noël Le Graët amid allegations of sexual and psychological harassment. His reelection marks the first time in the federation’s history that the presidents of amateur clubs could vote electronically, boosting voter participation from fewer than 250 to 11,500.
Describing the result as offering strong legitimacy, Diallo praised the “democratic maturity” shown by the FFF’s largest-ever electorate, which includes 2.4 million members. He plans to launch a nationwide discussion on football development in January to shape future support for amateur football.
During his campaign, Diallo highlighted several achievements, including securing a €100 million-per-year contract with Nike starting in 2026 and increasing the budget for amateur football from €100 million to €150 million annually until 2028. He also expressed ambitious goals for women’s football, aiming to double membership from 250,000 to 500,000 within five years.
Diallo’s leadership continues to focus on modernizing the FFF and fostering inclusivity across all levels of French football.
