The 41st edition of the Cairo International Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday, the 20th of November 2019.

Many celebrities from Africa and beyond headed to Cairo Opera House on Wednesday for the festival’s colourful opening ceremony.

The red carpet saw actresses like Shereen Reda, Yousra and Rania Youssef don exquisite outfits designed by some of the continent’s best designers.

The festival which will run till Friday, November 29 features some of Africa’s most anticipated works and premieres for films such as the divorce drama, Between Heaven and Earth, directed by Najwa Najjar and Beirut Terminus by Elie Kamal.
