Leaders and stakeholders from the four countries surrounding Lake Chad (Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria), have gathered to advance discussions on regional cooperation, security, climate change, and other shared challenges.
On the second day of the 5th Lake Chad Governors’ Forum, discussions will centre on food security and reintegration efforts for former members of Boko Haram, as well as the demobilisation of government-affiliated armed groups.
The forum will also examine their role in fostering social cohesion and transitional justice in the region.
