Ace Nigerian filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, has done it again! Since his last movie ‘Dazzling Mirage’ released in 2015, the movie director popularly known as TK, who brought you Saworoide, Thunderbolt, Magun, and Maami, comes with another masterpiece – Ayinla The Movie.
The musical biopic – Ayinla – tells the story of late Apala musician, Ayinla Waheed Yusuf, popularly known as Ayinla Omowura, who is considered to be one of the most original Yoruba musicians of post-colonial Nigeria, but was killed by one of his band members during a brawl in Abeokuta, Ogun State in 1980.
Ayinla the movie, was produced by Jade Osiberu, the maker of Box Office hits – Sugar Rush and Isoken, and starred Kunle Afolayan, Omowunmi Dada, Adedimeji Lateef, Bimbo Ademoye, Debo Macaroni, Ade Laoye, Manuel Bimbo, and Jumoke Odetola. The movie will be out in Nigerian cinemas from 18th June 2021.
