Police Arrest Reverend Sister With 15 Kidnapped Children in Rivers (News Central TV)

In connection with the alleged abduction of 15 children from within and outside the state, the Rivers State Police Command has announced the arrest of Maureen Wechinwu, a woman claiming to be a reverend sister, at Omuigwe Abuja Phase II, Aluu, in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The victims, whose ages range from 4 to 10, each have a different abduction story that is corroborated by one of their parents or other family members.

The Reverend Sister, 44, was apprehended by men from the Rivers State command acting on credible information regarding the hideout of child traffickers, according to the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday, who gave a press conference on Tuesday at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt about its recent accomplishments.

He continued, “While the case has been transferred to the CP Monitoring Unit for discreet investigation, 15 children have been rescued.”

On October 31, 2020, Prosper Godwin male and two other people, whose whereabouts he does not know, were reportedly taken from the Ikpazasia market in Bayelsa State and transferred to the suspects.

He was later sold to a woman in Lagos before being bought back by the suspect. The child’s statement was confirmed by Mr. and Mrs. Godwin Ododor, who were called.

While on an errand with the older sister, Queen Harry female was kidnapped at Ojukwu filed Mile 1, Diobu, Port Harcourt at around 7 o’clock. The mother, Mrs. Florence, was called and confirmed the information.

The police also arrested several armed robbers and other suspects numbering 21, with different exhibits including arms and ammunition, cars, motor bikes and others.

CP Eboka used the opportunity to appreciate the good people of the state for the working synergy existing between them and the Police declaring; “All the recorded achievements wouldn’t have been possible without your timely information most of which is through phone calls.”

“I also thank everyone including corporate bodies who commiserated with us in our time of grief following the death of our erstwhile spokesperson, SP Omoni Nnamdi, who was the DPO Elimgbu until his death. We pray that God grants him peaceful rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss”, the CP said.
