The Yobe State Police Command has refuted reports that a billboard erected by the State government to welcome Tinubu to the state was destroyed by Northern youths.

In a video clip currently making the rounds, youths are seen destroying a billboard with President Tinubu’s face on it. On X platform, the microblogging users who uploaded the video claimed the incident occurred after Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the state on Saturday.

Shettima was in the state capital to launch the Yobe State Agricultural Empowerment Programme on Saturday.
Reacting to the video, the Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim, said no such incident was recorded.

“I saw that video too but I don’t think it is in Yobe. When Shettima visited, we conducted the program peacefully and nothing happened.
“There was no single challenge. Nothing like that happened”, he noted.
