Nigeria Police Force

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has rescued 10 pregnant women from a baby factory run by a 56-year-old woman named Eunice Eze.

The Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, announced this during a press briefing at the Police Headquarters in Uyo on Tuesday.

Ayilara disclosed that Eze was arrested on July 15 in Owerri, where she operated the baby factory after police received reliable information.

Eze and her accomplice, Ability Tom, were involved in stealing babies and pregnant women from Akwa Ibom.

The police also arrested a notorious kidnapper responsible for multiple kidnappings and murders in the state. They recovered several firearms, including two AK-47 rifles, from a private mortuary used as an armoury in Okobo Local Government Area.

Ayilara thanked the state government, security agencies, and the public for their support and information, which were crucial in making the arrests. He called for continued collaboration to ensure the safety and peace of Akwa Ibom.
