Nigerian singer Habeeb ‘Portable’ Okikiola emerged victorious in a celebrity boxing match against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha. The match took place at Landmark Beach in Lagos State, with fans cheering in the crowd on December 27, 2023.
Portable, representing the blue corner, was dressed in blue boxing gear, while Okocha was dressed in red gear. In videos circulating on social media, Okocha attempted to dodge Portable’s jabs and punches, but Portable continued to land hits. Okocha managed to throw Portable off at one point, but Portable quickly recovered and continued his attack. The referee intervened periodically to ensure a fair game.
After approximately 40 minutes and four rounds of exchanging punches, Portable emerged as the winner. The spectators chanted Portable’s signature slang, “Wahala, Wahala, Wahala,” anticipating his victory. The host declared Portable the winner, and the crowd cheered. Okocha showed good sportsmanship by giving Portable a firm handshake and a smile.
The boxing match was arranged to settle a dispute between the two men, who had been exchanging words on social media. Portable accused Okocha of cheating him out of a ₦40 million deal for a performance, while Okocha claimed no agreements were signed and Portable’s performance did not meet expectations. They decided to settle the matter through a boxing match.
