Social media is buzzing after singer Portable made an unexpected appearance at an event that was organised by the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
The event took place on Thursday at the MKO Abiola Stadium’s. Timi Agbaje was listed as the event’s host on the poster. The music was to be run by DJ Skillz and Veentage Band, and a surprise act was promised. However, Portable ended up performing as a guest artist during the event.
A few online users discussed the contentious artist’s performance at the NBA concert on X (previously Twitter).
An X user, bearded_lawyah said, “I just want to see the genius at the Planning Committee meeting that thought it’d be a good idea to bring Portable to #Unbarred because if they aren’t high on Odogwu Bitters then they must be charge and bail lawyers because this thing no dey make sense no matter how you look am!”
Another user, marcel_great said, “As #NigBarAssoc has decided to embarrass the bar with their choice of artiste for the unbarred concert, let it be known that we will visit the issue during the next year’s election. What business does NBA have with Portable? #afamosigwe we will remind you.”
It was gathered that while some attorneys left the event after seeing Portable, others stayed to listen the singer perform.
The annual NBA conference includes a live entertainment event for attorneys called The Unbarred Concert.
It is held the day before the association’s annual general meeting and serves as the grand conference’s closing celebration.
Previous iterations featured performances by 2baba, Wande Coal, Teni, Bez, Brymo, Nini, Falz, Olamide, and Ruger.
