PREMIER LEAGUE WRAP UP African Players Review. (News Central TV).

Morocco’s Ziyech Rated High in Chelsea Win

Chelsea’s off-field troubles have continued this week following the sanction placed on the club and owner Roman Abramovich by the UK government. Regardless of the sleepless nights for the players and coaching team off the pitch, it was victory and superb performance on the pitch.

Chelsea’s Kai Havertz struck a late winner to beat in-form Newcastle 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. Back to action was Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech who played all 90 minutes. The left-footer created incredible chances for the blues through his targeted crosses. Although he got a yellow card, his forceful attack down the right flank caused more woes for Newcastle who visited Stamford bridge with a defensive mindset.

Senegalese keeper – Eduard Mendy was between the sticks ensuring that he kept a clean sheet. Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel was excited for the win and Mendy’s ability not to conceive at the end of the game.

Anguish For Alex Iwobi at Everton

Nigerian player, Alex Iwobi is currently biting his nails following another successive defeat in the premier league. Everton has not scored in their last three league games and that, coupled with Watford’s win at Southampton, leaves them outside the bottom three on goal difference alone.

Iwobi who did not play in yesterday’s fixture against Wolves could not help but feel sad from the bench watching helplessly as they play within the relegation zone.

Frank Lampard’s side does have three matches in hand on most of their rivals but a run of just nine points from the last 60 available and only two league wins since September. His fellow teammate and Malian star, Abdoulaye Doucouré, who played the whole 90 minutes could not raise their hopes high either. This has left the players in deep anguish. Hoping that they can make it out of the relegation zone soon.

Algeria’s Said Benrahma Celebrates Victory With Club

It was a huge result for Algeria’s Said Benrahma and West Ham after beating Aston Villa in an entertaining match. The 26-year old forward was inspirational to David Moyes’ side going forward in attack. The victory sends them into fifth on 48 points, although they have played four games more than Arsenal in sixth.

Teammate, Armstrong Oko-Felix born of Nigerian descent did not get playing time but was excited to see his club amass the much-needed three points at the end of the referee’s whistle.
