Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to meet with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the country’s new president.

Buhari would express his condolences to the ex-President and ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the Arab nation.

President Buhari is also scheduled to send congratulations to the new President, according to presidential spokesman Mallam Garba Shehu, restoring the longtime friendship between Nigeria and the UAE.

Buhari has previously reaffirmed Nigeria’s friendly relations with the country, noting that the two countries’ collaboration had aided Nigeria in locating illegal assets and terrorist finances.

“Under the new leadership, President Buhari looks forward to a bigger and stronger partnership for peace, stability, and prosperity of both countries,” Shehu stated.

Ambassador Zubairu Dada, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Isa Ali Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy; Mohammed Bello, Minister of Federal Capital Territory; and Senator Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation, will accompany the President on his foreign tour.

Major-General Mohammed Monguno (retd), the National Security Adviser, and Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, were among the others.

The President is due to return to Nigeria on Saturday.
