In order to collect the “African Award for Strengthening Peace” in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritius, on Tuesday, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari will travel from Abuja to that city on Monday.

The honor recognises the President’s leadership in advancing peace on the continent, according to presidential spokesman Femi Adesina.

Adesina stated that the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, an association of leaders founded in 2014 to pursue new avenues to embrace inclusive citizenship, advance lasting peace, and work toward a safer and more sustainable world for all, will deliver the prize to President Buhari.

The presidential aide stated that before accepting the honor, Buhari will take part in the Third Forum of the African Conference for Peace, where he will give an address on significant developments in the African peace process.
