Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who flew the flag of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in the February 25 presidential election, met for four hours in Paris, France, on Monday.

Prior to the 10th National Assembly’s inauguration on June 13, concerns surrounding the election of the parliamentary leaders were also discussed at the meeting.

The two top positions in both chambers have been designated by the All Progressives Congress (APC), but some of its members are rebelling against the plan and threatening to create an alliance with the opposition to scuttle the agreement.

The two met for several hours on Monday in the French capital, Paris, according to sources. According to reports, Tinubu instructed Kwankwaso to inform his political allies of the need of cooperating. The new president and his guest reportedly decided to schedule additional meetings.

While Tinubu’s wife and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the departing Speaker of the House of Representatives, attended the meeting, Kwankwaso’s wife and Abdulmimin Jibrin, an NNPP lawmaker-elect, went with him.
