The Governor of South Sudan’s Central Bank has been replaced.
The President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir has named Dier Tong Ngor as the new central bank governor. He replaces Jamal Wani Abdalla according to state broadcaster, South Sudan Television .
No reason was given for the move to replace Wani, who was appointed in January 2020. Ngor has previously worked as the bank’s governor.
South Sudan has been on the path to economic recovery before the COVID-19 lockdown and practical halt on all business activities kicked in. with 3.2 positive growth projection in the financial year 2018 to 2019.
