President Tinubu Addresses Out-of-School Children Issue, Advocates for Education Measures

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emphasised the need to address the challenge of out-of-school children in Nigeria through the establishment of more schools, the recruitment of additional teachers, and the provision of at least one meal a day for schoolchildren. He expressed his commitment to a progressive and inclusive democracy, focusing on poverty alleviation and quality education for all Nigerian children.

President Tinubu made these remarks during a meeting with the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos. He highlighted the importance of a democracy that is both progressive and inclusive, with a primary focus on eradicating poverty by creating job opportunities for youth and ensuring quality education.

Acknowledging the issue of out-of-school children in Nigeria, which accounts for a significant portion of the global total, President Tinubu stressed the importance of addressing this challenge through comprehensive measures. The President expressed support for the establishment of the National Institute of Progressive Studies by the APC, emphasising its role in conducting research and educating party members on democratic principles and good governance.

President Tinubu urged the party to target more youths and women in its ongoing e-registration and digital membership validation exercise, slated for completion in the first quarter of 2024. He expressed his commitment to advancing the progressive ideological stance of the APC.

During the meeting, the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, assured the President that the National Working Committee is implementing strategies to secure success for the party in the upcoming bye-elections in February 2024.

President Tinubu thanked party members for their support during the campaign and electoral victory, reaffirming his dedication to the party’s principles and goals.
