President Bola Tinubu has appointed retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hashimu Argungu as the new Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC). Argungu succeeds Arase, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In an official statement, presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale announced additional appointments: Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and retired DIG Taiwo Lakanu as a Member of the Commission. These appointments await Senate confirmation.
Ngelale also noted that further appointments to the Police Service Commission will be made in due course.
Additionally, President Tinubu has appointed Mr. Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), effective immediately.
The president expects these appointees to exhibit utmost integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in their roles, contributing to the well-being of the Nigeria Police and the nation.
