President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed optimism about the upcoming year, urging Nigerians to anticipate further relief measures that will ease burdens in 2024.
President Tinubu highlighted recent initiatives, such as the 50% reduction in inter-state land transportation fares nationwide and the settlement of N-Power beneficiaries’ backlog of allowances, as efforts aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by Nigerians during the festive season.
During Friday’s Jumaat prayers at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Central Mosque in Surulere, Lagos, marking the centennial anniversary of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS), President Tinubu assured Nigerians of his commitment to fairness and the unity of the nation. He emphasised his administration’s dedication to ensuring the welfare and prosperity of all citizens.
Commending the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society for its service to humanity, contributions to the propagation of Islamic tenets, and efforts to uplift the less privileged, President Tinubu reiterated that the economic reforms initiated by his government aim to establish a robust and secure foundation for current and future generations of Nigerians.
The president encouraged members of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society to remain steadfast in advancing education and promoting moral and social development within the Muslim Ummah.
Expressing gratitude for the society’s support during the elections, President Tinubu acknowledged that their backing motivates the government to remain focused on delivering good governance to the people.
”I thank the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society for its support during the elections. I do not take it for granted; rather, the support serves as a stimulus for us in government to remain focused.” he stated.
Affirming his commitment to the welfare of all citizens, President Tinubu emphasised his dedication to creating a better society for Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious, or geographical differences.
“It is instructive that Ansar-Ud-Deen has attained 100 years through a systemic strategy that maintains its mission and vision. This is a testimony to what focused planning can achieve in a society,’‘ President Tinubu explained.
Currently on a brief Christmas holiday in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, President Tinubu’s message encourages Nigerians to approach the new year with hope and optimism.
