President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fully concentrating on delivering the promises he made to Nigerians rather than engaging in discussions about the 2027 elections, according to his Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media, Daniel Bwala.
Speaking on Wednesday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja, Bwala stated that the president is committed to addressing pressing national issues and ensuring the well-being of citizens. He stressed that the administration remains dedicated to governance and will address political matters at the appropriate time.
“The time for politicking is not yet here, and when that time comes, we will be ready for everyone,” Bwala said.
He also expressed confidence that Tinubu’s achievements during his current term would naturally garner public support for a potential second term.
“The president’s agenda, which is yielding positive results, will naturally endear Nigerians to vote for him again. He is constitutionally more than qualified to contest for a second term. And, God willing, if he has the life and health, we hope he will pursue his mandate as provided by the Constitution,” he said.
Bwala described the administration’s efforts as transformative, asserting that Tinubu’s leadership is driving progress across various sectors.
When asked about concerns over the APC’s stability, particularly in light of recent political developments in neighbouring Ghana, where the ruling party lost the presidential election, Bwala dismissed any parallels.
“That cannot happen here because Nigerians have seen the progress being made under President Tinubu’s leadership,” he concluded.
The comments come as Tinubu’s government faces the dual challenge of managing current national issues while maintaining the confidence of Nigerians in his leadership, a balance Bwala says the president is handling with focus and determination.
