A private jet with 10 persons onboard including has crash-landed in Ibadan, Oyo State capital in Southwest Nigeria.
The jet with registration number, N580KR, missed the runway around 11am on Friday at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport – into the nearby bush.
Emergency and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) rushed to the scene to assist the victims. No casualty was recorded.
A spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo “It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty.”
A spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, Tunji Oketunmbi, said he would revert but he was yet to do so as of press time.
In November 2023, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, missed death by death by whiskers, after a plane he was on board crash-landed at the same airport.
